Halloween Themed Weekend

We celebrated Halloween a little early this year

It started off with a Halloween package from Grandma with all kinds of treats!
Making crafts
Decorating our traditional Frankenstein cookies. Although this year they really got creative
Carving pumpkins
We really had fun with Halloween themed foods this year

Each evening we watched a family movie. We kicked off the weekend with The Great Pumpkin followed by Nightmare before Christmas. Our new favorite movie was the Muppet one. We also watched some of the Transylvania series. Lots of fun this weekend!

Swigert Open House

We were so excited to be able to visit Andrew’s classroom and get a tour of the school.

His classroom! They opened the school during the evening and staggered visits for the parents. We hit it at the right time because no one else was in the classroom.
In 5th grade they are assigned classroom jobs. Andrew’s job is overseeing the Friday folders. He makes sure everyone brings theirs back from the weekend and stuffs them with the important paperwork from the week.
The students are paid for their jobs. At the end of each month they pay rent and whatever is left they can go shopping in the classroom store.
