Road Trip to Aspen

We were lucky to go to Aspen for the Stars Above Aspen Event. Aunt Becca was finishing up her job there and Uncle Tommy came out for the fun. We spent Monday hiking the Maroon Bells and then that evening we took the gondola up in Aspen to view the stars.  It was a great couple of days!    Breathtaking views of the Maroon Bells Mountain Range.  There is still some snow on the mountains.  Beaver dam!  We saw this little guy as we were leaving our hotel. Taking a ride to the lower level of the Snowmass Village on Sunday night.  Swimming in the pool on Sunday night.

Train to Downtown Denver

Today we took the train from Stapleton to Union Station and walked up to the 16th Street Mall.  It was a very fun and easy adventure.  We hope to do it again soon!  Union Station which is a beautiful building  The 16th Street Mall

Evening Exploring

We went out exploring late afternoon to another park near our house.  This one only had climbing contraptions.  After that we walked to our favorite Italian place for dinner.  A beautiful walking and biking trail that takes you all the way through Stapleton.  They gave the kids dough to shape and bake before dinner. Reading with Gerald and Piggie! (Thank you, Grandma for the stuffed animals!)

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

The kids were able to enroll in a program where they have free access to recreational centers and culture facilities.  On Tuesday we checked out the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  The museum was really well done.  It was almost too much to check out in one day.  We can’t wait to go back!   How cool that all these dinosaurs once roamed where we live now. There was a whole section devoted to health that was all interactive.  What fun!
