Sum-Sum-Summertime

Our weather has taken a turn for the better in the last few days.  The kids have enjoyed being out in the sun and the warmth.  We actually had to turn on the AC it was so hot today.

Andrew is getting big enough that he can ride in the wagon which Piper loves pulling.  Piper has been into wearing dresses lately.  Thank goodness it’s gotten warmer for this new trend!

9 Month Check-up

Andrew saw the doctor today for his 9 month wellness check.  He weighed 18 pounds 14 ounces and was 28 1/2 inches long.  We almost think their scales were off because he feels so much heavier and longer than that.  The doctor even weighed him twice because she thought the same thing.  He met all the milestones for this age and the doctor thought he looked great.  A bonus for Drew is he will be able to eat more solid foods.  We know this will make him happy to see what he’s been missing out on.

Caterpillars and Kidspace

Kidspace is having their annual caterpillar adoption. On Sunday we went over to get one for Andrew and Piper.  Before we picked them up Piper had fun playing around.  There is so much to do and she was very busy!

We brought home two caterpillars for the kids.  Piper named hers Molly.  It will be fun watching them go through the different stages before they become butterflies.  Right now we are just watching them eat.  Piper is very anxious for them to make their cocoons and asks several times a day if that has happened.

9 Months Old!!!

Our little guy is 9 months old today.  Andrew has changed so much since he was born but is still sweet and pleasant.  He smiles for everyone he sees.  Also gets very excited to see the babysitter which makes mommy feel good.

At this stage Andrew is so busy.  We can put him on the floor and he will entertain himself with all his toys.  He’s so quiet about it too.  His main way of getting around is by rolling. It’s amazing how far he can get in the blink of an eye.  Recently he has started to get up on his knees.  We have to be careful when we carry him because he will propel his body towards something that’s a must have.  Solid foods are still a favorite.  An important part of his day is eating his cereal, fruits, veggies and now Cheerios.  He loves standing and is starting to pull himself up.  Still no signs of teeth.  If he’s anything like Piper it will be around 10 months. Andrew adores his sister and the feeling is mutual between the kids.  We love to hear them make each other laugh.

We’ve said it before and we will say it lots of times again…we are truly blessed to have two terrific kids!

Loving Cheerios!

We started giving Andrew Gerber Puffs and Cheerios this week.  At first he made the funniest faces trying to get used to the texture.  Now he can’t get enough.  He still needs practice on getting them into his mouth but is doing a pretty good job.  It’s fun having him sit at the table munching on his Cheerios while we eat our meals.

Our weather has been very wet and rainy.  The other day we saw a rainbow after one of the storms.
