Steelers Party

Our friends Kelly and Dillion invited us over for a Steelers party tonight.  They are big fans but aren’t from Pittsburgh.  It was fun to see their family decked out in Steeler gear.  Some of our other friends were there too.

17 Months Old

Andrew is just growing and changing so fast before our eyes.  He’s now into climbing up on things.  He loves to climb up on our bed, the couch and the stools in the bathrooms.  He’s pretty cautious though and does wait for help to get down.  Reading books with us is still his favorite thing to do!  It’s nice that he will sit for long periods of time now.  He’s very social and gives smiles to everyone he sees.  Andrew is always happy!  Every where he goes he also makes lots of friends.  There are still only a few words in his vocabulary but he knows how to communicate.  He uses a few signs, points and grunts and also mimics how many things work.  He’s a pretty smart guy for not having much to say.  Oh and he loves to dance!

Piper and Andrew get along so well together.  They love playing and making each other laugh.

Light Up Night in Old Town

Tonight we took the train into Old Town to enjoy the Christmas festivities.  They had a few of Santa’s reindeer who made a visit, crafts for the kids and a whole area of snow.  Piper had a blast playing in the snow!  It was too slippery and busy for Andrew.  Then we went to the annual tree lighting where Santa made an appearance.  We let Andrew run around before hand and then he didn’t want to get back in his stroller.  After that we hopped back on the train for home.  It was a great night to get into the spirit!

Soup Day

For Piper’s school Thanksgiving celebration they had a Soup Sharing Day.  Each child brought in a vegetable earlier in the week and was able to help prepare it for the soup.  Piper cut up cauliflower, carrots and zucchini.

Today was Soup Day.   The children spent the day finishing preparing the soup and set the tables. We arrived for the children’s performance where they sang 5 songs.   It was so awesome to hear all these little voices singing along together.  Piper was very overwhelmed with the amount of people.  After the singing we all enjoyed the soup together.
