Ladora Lake Walk

We did a walk around Ladora Lake this afternoon. The last time we were there was in the Spring so everything looked different. It’s really starting to look like Fall. We saw a couple of Pelicans, lots of deer and the buffalo on our walk. Unfortunately we could see the smoke from the wildfires blowing in. The smoke was coming from the Cameron Peak fire.
The smoke rolled in very fast.
Deer in the reeds
Sunrise from this morning. The fires do make for beautiful sunrises and sunsets…

Sweater Weather!

A cold front moved in today and it was chilly enough for sweaters! This won’t last because it will be back up into the 80’s by Tuesday but we are enjoying it now!

We did more leaf peeping today in Golden Gate Canyon Park and could actually see the cold front moving in. It dropped 10 degrees in a matter of minutes.
The photos don’t do a justice with how quickly the clouds moved in.

Leaf Peeping

The leaves are starting to change so we wanted to get out and see them before they go. Fall is very quick out here. We drove the Peak to Peak Scenic Highway starting in Estes Park. Fun fact that this is the first and oldest scenic byways in Colorado established in 1918. It was a beautiful drive!

Happy 13th Birthday Piper!

Piper is having a great day so far. We went to breakfast and then came home to a present scavenger hunt that was all Andrew’s idea. He wrapped the gifts, created the clues and hid the presents. He had such a fun time doing it and she loved it!

Piper had a wonderful day talking with family and friends over the computer and opening more presents!
