Another busy weekend here. Andrew started tee-ball on Saturday. They picked teams and will start the league next weekend. Piper went to a 1st grade park playdate with her friends. Then on Sunday we went to the JPL open house.
School is Cool
Cambria and Paso Robles
On Sunday we headed up the coast to the town of Cambria. We stopped there for breakfast and walked around Moonstone Drive. The tide was in so there wasn’t much to see in the tide pools. This area has been affected by the drought. The restaurants are serving bottled water and there are signs everywhere to conserve. Even the public restrooms have been replaced by porto-potties to reserve water.
The Cambria scarecrow festival was going on. The town was filled with all sorts of scarecrows that were so creatively done. It was neat to see.
Here are a few.
After Cambria we drove into the valley to Paso Robles. We stopped at a few wineries. Above is a photo from Niner. It’s beautiful there.
Another view of the vineyards.
Sunset at Pismo
Road trip to Pismo Beach
We got away for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed overnight at Pismo Beach. The plan was to stay over two nights but the kids had trouble sleeping. We all woke up exhausted on Sunday and decided to come home that day. Before we left we drove up the coast a bit more. The beach and ocean felt wonderful. It was another hot weekend.
It’s the season for humpback whales and we saw a bunch right off the coast. We also found sand dollars and shells.
