Poipu Beach

We spent the morning hanging out at our local beach.  The ocean formed a cove which was great for the kids because the waves were small.  They had a blast jumping in the water.  There were also rocks creating tidal pool that kept Piper busy looking for sea creatures.  The view of the ocean was just amazing!  And the sand was truly golden.

Spouting Horn

In the afternoon we headed out to see a blowhole called Spouting Horn.  Water rushes under a lava shelf and bursts up to 50 feet in the air.  Piper loved it and didn’t want to leave.  We came back again on our last day.

Our Island Adventure

We made a promise we would go to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary to celebrate.  Well, that date came and went.  But this year we were able to go.

We flew to Kauai connecting through Oahu.  It was a very long day of travel but the kids did great. They kept pretty busy on the flight without sleeping.  Our beach house was on the South Shore in Poipu.  We headed straight for the sand and surf the first night we arrived.  It was fun to see the ocean at sunset.  Both kids did well with the 3 hour time difference and slept well.  Luckily they upgraded us to a 3 bedroom so everyone had their own space.  It was a comfortable stay and a wonderful week!

Butterfly Release Party

Our butterflies finally emerged from their chrysalis.  The first one came out earlier in the week but flew away as soon as we set her free.  This one played with us a bit before flying off.

Happy Earth Day

Piper’s school celebrated Earth Day by having each child bring in a plant or vegetable.  They were able to plant them in the garden and will care for them the rest of the school year.  Piper chose a pink impatient.  The kids found 3 worms while digging holes in the garden.  Fun!
