Bike riding at Lacy Park

Piper learned to ride her bike without her training wheels this week.  It only took her two days.  She started on Monday with Grandpa teaching her balance. Then they did more practice on Tuesday and by Wednesday she was doing it all by herself. Today we went to Lacy park so she could ride around the loop without stopping.  She went around about 6 times and feels so comfortable now.  DSC_0782 DSC_0778 DSC_0786 her biking partnerDSC_0787 The gang going around the loopDSC_0794 Grandma!DSC_0796 DSC_0791

Wisteria Festival

On Sunday we went to the Wisteria Festival in Sierra Madre.  First we visited the 250 ton vine that was planted back in the 1890’s.  It smelled so good!  We were glad Grandma was out so she could finally go. Then we walked the street fair.  It was a very fun day!DSCN0728 DSC_0768 DSC_0769 DSCN0739

Happy St. Patty’s Day

DSC_0775Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  We woke up to the jolt of a 4.4 earthquake this morning. There was no damage and everyone is ok. Piper felt the shaking of the walls and came running into our room.  Grandma, Grandpa and Andrew slept right through it.  Daddy was well on his way to work on the train and didn’t feel much. What a way to start the day!DSC_0773

Beautiful Day in Santa Barbara

The weather was hot today so we did a day trip up to Santa Barbara.  It was a picture perfect day!  We went up to the Douglas Family Preserve first and enjoyed the view.  We even saw a whale in the distance!  Then we spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach. The kids played in the water and the sand.  We found neat seashells and rocks along the beach. Before we headed home we stopped at our favorite restaurant (Brophy Brothers) for a delicious seafood feast.  DSC_0696 DSC_0704 DSC_0712 DSC_0709 DSC_0698 DSC_0719 The kids can’t get enough of the water!DSC_0723 DSC_0724 DSC_0725 DSC_0729 DSC_0733 DSC_0740 DSC_0751 DSC_0755 DSC_0756
