We have a very big travel day ahead of us.  None of it is going to be pleasant but I just hope the flights are on time.  It’s going to be over 9 hours of travel for me and the kids.  We have to be at the airport over lunch and fly out around 1:20 which is going to be rough.  Then we have a 2 hour layover in San Francisco   This is all during Andrew’s nap time so I’m not sure how things will go.  That layover is going to be tough!  Then we have a solid 5 hours of flying to Pittsburgh arriving after midnight.  Yikes!!  I will be so glad when this is all behind us.  See you all soon!! (I hope!)  Piper is so excited she could hardly sleep last night.

Piper went to the doctor last week for her 5 year check-up.  She is 44 1/2 inches tall and weighs 39 pounds.  They also checked her hearing, eyes and took her blood pressure.  The doctor let Piper listen to her own heart with the stethoscope.  That made her day!  The doctor thought she looked great.  She said she is a very healthy and smart girl.

Today the kids went to the library with the sitter for a dress up Fairy party.  They read books, did crafts and made flower crowns.  

Summer will just not quit here.

Breakfast at Andy’s with Aunt Becca and Mr. Will

It seems like a few times a year we experience some wild weather involving hail, thunder and lighting.  Today was that day.  We had two storms pass through and the second one was a doozy.  It brought alot of rain and hail.  There were many lightening strikes in the area too.  Luckily we were all safe inside.  Andrew slept through it all and Piper made a snowman out of the hail.  After it was all over a beautiful rainbow spanned across the skies.  Unfortunately the camera wouldn’t focus so we didn’t get a shot of that.  Earlier in the day we visited Aunt Becca who was working in Pasadena today.  Piper loved seeing her and didn’t want to go home with mommy.  Piper’s expression as she hears thunderIn front of Aunt Becca’s office (and yes it was very chilly that day but Piper is such a Southern CA girl, she hates to wear long sleeves and shoes…)HailstormAll snug in our footy jammiesBouncing and getting some energy out before making the bed
