6 Weeks old and counting

Today, Piper had quite alot going on.  First there was the fact that she turned 6 weeks today and she put on weight for a total of 8lb 12oz.  She’s a little worried about all this getting old and putting on weight (she’s considering a low carb diet).  On top of these stresses she saw the doctor who poked her with needles for her first set of immunizations.  She was pretty sleepy for the rest of the afternoon and evening from the shots.

For now, let’s hope the needle pokes heal and Piper sleeps well tonight!

Super Sunday

All this excitement can really make a girl sleepy!  Unless of course you’re Piper where you want to stay awake for it all!!!  Yes, our little angle decided that today she would forgo napping and fought off sleeping to enjoy this lovely day.  As things go, the day caught up with her and she passed out cold in the evening just in time for Mom & Dad to make dinner and clean up the house.  Wow is it nice to go to sleep and wake up to a nice clean house!

Maybe she put all her enthusiasm into seeing her Steelers win again this fine day?  But, oh yeah, we did forget to tell her that sometimes there are games on Monday night too.  So as her momentum is recollected, she will hopefully sleep well tonight knowing her brand new pink Steeler’s outfit awaits for Monday night as she cheers on her beloved black & gold!

Tomorrow is also a big day for her turning 6 weeks and paying a visit back to the doctors.  We will keep you informed on how things go.

The weekend

Yesterday, Piper was able to talk to Aunt Susie on iSight for the first time!  We heard Uncle Jack was pretty jealous so we hope to coordinate a meeting with the two of them some time today.

Then, she spent most of the day hanging out with Mommy in the sling.  We think she likes sleeping in there since it’s sung & warm or she just passes out due to lack of air.  Either way, it makes it nice to get things done around the house because both hands are free.  The weather was so pleasant and warm that we took another walk through the neighborhood.  Although, this time Piper mostly slept through it but we like to think she was happy since no complaints were voiced.

Hanging out with Aunt Becca

Piper really took to hanging out with Aunt Becca this fine Friday.  The two of them got along for hours and spent some quality time.  She came bearing gifts of food and a brand new Steelers outfit to cheer on the black & gold each Sunday (Monday this week anyways)!  The gifts also included quality time for mom to grab a shower, wash her hair and brush her teeth!  Ahhh.. life is a little happier when all are freshly cleaned.

She then woke up for some food then off to explore the neighborhood!  Piper had a sizable stroll around and got to really take in the fall air.  Even though now it’s warming up to quite an interesting fall.  Then finally tonight, Piper had her shot at a bath and really cleaned up well.  Taking the lead from mom, she washed up for a nice appearance for bedtime.  Tomorrow, more walks and fresh air!

Just hold me

Piper communicated a very important message to her mom today.  HOLD ME!  As simple and straight forward as that sounds, it’s not always the case especially when messages get crossed.  Her eating & changing went normal, as well as the de-gassing (top and bottom) but the smallest of details she needed was to be held a little extra today.  Who can blame her?  She’s adorable and easy to pass the time with.  Of course we sneak in a smooch or two but she still get all the holding she desires.

The temperature is down a little tonight from last, so adding a few extra blankets to the mix will keep her warm and snug tonight.  Maybe tonight she’ll sleep through the night?? Ahh.. wishful thinking but one day!
