Back home

Piper made it safe and sound back home this morning.  She did excellent on the plane again and it’s amazing how good she is on these long flights.  After we got home, she slept most of the day away.  She’ll probably need a few days to recover from her two weeks of excitement.

Farewell Stone Harbor

This morning, Piper said farewell to the beach and the waves.  She had such a great time.  After a yummy breakfast at Uncle Bill’s Pancake House it was into the car for a lengthy ride back to Pittsburgh.  The whole time back she played, read stories and slept.  What a great traveler she is!!

Once Piper got back to Beaver, she started on helping Grandma & Grandpa get the house in order.  They are sure going to miss her.

Pre-birthday Celebration

Piper had a small birthday party before heading back West.  She wasn’t sure what to make of all the attention and excitement, but the cake was a hit as you can see from the photos.  Then shortly after, the winds kicked up and the power went out.  Needless to say the party was very much over at that point!

Thank you everyone for making this celebration so special for Piper!

Wind and Sprinkles

Piper’s last day at the beach was a little cool and windy, so much so that she wasn’t able to go into the water.  Despite many attempts to wiggle free from mom & dad and head to the water, she just couldn’t do it.  So we spent the day playing and reading inside with Grandma and Grandpa.

Finally, Piper got to experience her first dinner at the Windrift where everyone ordered seafood.  It was a nice way to finish off the trip.

Beach Bum

Beach time is lots of fun for Piper since she doesn’t mind crawling in the sand or getting it everywhere.  It’s like very soft carpeting and surprisingly enough she doesn’t want to eat it.  Once she spots the ocean there’s no stopping, she makes a beeline to the water until it splashes her everywhere.  It’s so funny to watch how determined she is.

Her right middle tooth popped through last night so she is up to six teeth.
