8 Weeks and Counting

Grandpa finally made it in around noon today.  Piper greeted him at the airport and was so happy to see him again.  He was very excited to see her and they  instantly began bonding. We all had a great afternoon together.

Piper is 8 weeks today.  She got all dressed up for this special occasion even though her outfit is way too big.  The face says it all down below.

Grandpa’s flight was cancelled!

Finally, the day is here when Grandpa could finally return to see his sweet baby granddaughter and his flight is cancelled due to weather.  Yes, that’s right – weather.  We can’t believe it either.  There was a low fog that moved in and they couldn’t get clearance to land.  They made it all the way over to Burbank from Phoenix and circled a few times and then had to fly all the way back.  He won’t get in until noon tomorrow.  We know it was a long few weeks for him and this will probably seem like a very long night.

Piper was again an excellent little girl and enjoyed being out and about.  We’ve been on the go alot and she just goes with the flow getting a nap in every once in awhile.  It’s so fun to watch her checking out all the new environments she’s been in.  Piper was handing out lots of big smiles again today.  Trying to capture it on film isn’t so easy.

We would like to wish Grandpa and Grandma Snitger a special congratulations on celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.  It’s great to have you both out here and to be able to share it with you!

A Sunny Saturday

Piper continues to amaze us everyday!   She is becoming so aware of her surroundings and  is developing a personality all her own.

We ate breakfast outside this morning at a favorite restaurant and then did some shopping.  Piper was such a good girl and enjoyed all the attention she was getting from everyone.  It really was a fun day!

Sweet little thing

What a day of discovery!  This little one found that she loves to suck on her hands when on her tummy.  Now hopefully she will make this same discovery when she’s right side up since it really helps calm her.  Then she rolled over again for daddy this time and he was amazed by her strength.  She hung out with daddy the rest of the day while mommy and grandmum did some running around.  Daddy even got to enjoy a nap with her in the afternoon.  Ahh yes, rest is good in any form one can get.

Weather was nice today, a bit cooler than the 80+ degrees we’ve been having.  Sorry to hear about the snow and stuff back in Beaver but it does make for a great Holiday season!  Looking forward to having Grandpa Snitger out on Sunday.  Piper and grandpa have a lot of catching up to do from when they last saw each other.
